Rusper Patel began his study of Ving Tsun Kung Fu under Sifu Brian Hooke and Sifu Clive Potter in his homeland of England, before relocating to Hong Kong upon graduating from university to study with the legendary Wong Shun Leung.

Armed with a degree in civil engineering, Rusper skipped his graduating ceremonies to quickly board a flight to Hong Kong to meet and train with Sifu Wong Shun Leung. With the initial intention of only staying a few months to year, Rusper quickly found Sifu Wong's academy and immediately enrolled in classes. As his stay prolonged, Hong Kong's grip on Rusper tightened when he landed a full-time job in a geo-technical firm on the island. Quiet and mild-mannered, Rusper and Sifu Wong grew to become good friends. Often during training sessions, Sifu Wong would test his own English skills and share in both a cup of coffee and a conversation with Rusper. Over time, Sifu Wong delegated some of the teaching responsibility to Rusper when the many foreign students traveled to Hong Kong to train at Sifu Wong's academy. Quiet and unassuming, Rusper soon became a permanent fixture in Wong Shun Leung's classes.

After over ten years of training and living in Hong Kong, Rusper Patel continues his life as a successful engineer, a loving husband to his wife Yeng, and an unassuming and mild-mannered kung fu brother (and instructor) to those of the Wong Shun Leung clan in Hong Kong and abroad.
